While in New Zealand you should try to spend some time either side of your hunt to explore and sightsee.  Deborah is happy to offer suggestions of places and things to see and do and has many websites for you to look at.

New Zealand (also known as Aotearoa – land of the long white cloud), truly is one of the most breath taking, picturesque and photogenic places on earth. New Zealand is a small nation with just over 4 million people spread over two major land masses (North Island and South Island) and a number of smaller islands.

Exploring New Zealand’s magnificent landscape and coastline tops the lists for many. From vast mountain ranges, steaming volcanoes, peaceful lakes to sweeping coastlines New Zealand is a playground for thrill seekers, adventures and those who simply want to visit for the culture, relaxation and tranquillity. Along with the plethora of landscapes New Zealand has to offer, it is home to world renowned wineries and other attractions such as golf courses,  hot pools and day spas set amongst amazing scenery. The location of our lodge and hunting area (Kaikoura) is situated amongst some of New Zealand’s finest with breath taking mountain views and fresh coastal air. We truly feel blessed to be able to share our home with you and share the beauty New Zealand has to offer.

Some suggested websites that Deborah recommends you browse through before you come include:

  • www.newzealand.com this is the official New Zealand tourism website.

  • www.kaikoura.co.nz is our local area site and will show the kids all there is to see and do around our area. There is a page on Whale Watching and Dolphin swimming.

  • www.westcoastnz.com  the West Coast of the south island has some of the most beautiful scenery you will find. Rain forest, glaciers and crystal clear rivers.

  • www.glaciercountry.co.nz is a more in-depth view of the Fox & Franz Josef glaciers area.

  • www.fiordland.org.nz this area is situated at the bottom of the south Island on the west coast side. This area has simply spectacular scenery.

  • www.realjourneys.co.nz is by far the best company to book with to see the likes of “Milford Sound and Doubtful sound” all in the Fiordland area.

  • www.queenstownnz.co.nz is another great little resort town with amazing scenery and is about two hours drive away from the Fiordland area. It is probably the most popular destination for tourists and New Zealanders alike.
